On our journey through India, Our guide explain that his Muslim neighbor was getting married that very evening. As we discussed all the arrangements and where it would take place and the conversation grew, we were completely caught off guard by the sincerity in our guide’s question of “Would you like to go?”.

After quickly declining the offer, we were met with insistence and encouraged that it would be wonderful to have us join him at the event. Knowing how much I love markets, small towns, and the culture in time we simply had to accept the invitation. Apparently it was very auspicious to have strangers attend your wedding so upon arrival we were treated like guests of honor. During the entire event, we kept trying to take pictures of people in the traditional finery, but all they wanted to do was take pictures of us. It was quite a scene and a once in a lifetime experience.
