SPRING AND FALL ARE IDEAL TIMES TO VISIT,
WHEN THE WEATHER IS MOSTLY MILD.
It is a vast region, home of the most challenging topography in the world – vast plains erupt into towering mountains and disappear into deserts. The climate is driven by the landscapes, but one thing is consistent: winters are bitterly cold and summers are scorchingly hot.
SPRING
March, April, May
Cool, pleasant days. Cold nights.
SUMMER
June, July, August
Very hot. Sunny days. Warm nights. Temperatures can go as high as 50 C (122F). If you are going to visit mountains with high elevations, it's best to visit during this time as they will be quite pleasant. The deserts in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan become inhospitable.
FALL
September, October, November
Warm, pleasant days. Cold nights.
WINTER
December, January, February
Very cold and snowy days and nights. Temperatures can drop as low as -45 C. (-49F)
