Asian Beach Babymoons

While many people only visit this Asia travel destination on a quick jaunt to Angkor Wat, we also love Cambodia for the beach. By all means, don’t miss the temples, but then head to the southern coastline to experiences a pristine wonderland of broad beaches perfect for swimming and snorkeling on the country’s southern coast. And best of all, Cambodia has beaches for all types. For a relaxed, but trendy, beach town charm, look no further than Sihanoukville (Kompong Som). This southern beach area named for the late king has exorcised the ghosts of Khmer Rouge destruction to reclaim its place as Cambodia’s premier beach resort. Numerous newly opened and renovated resorts are making “Snookyville” the next great Asian beach utopia. Nature lovers will want to head to the exotic black sand beaches at Kep, which also features abundant wilderness areas. Nearby Rabbit Island offers beautiful white sand beaches and shallow bays ideal for swimming and snorkeling. To truly get away from it all, try Kampot, which is located between Kep and Sihanoukville, and perfect for a babymoon requiring serious R&R.

For the ultimate in babymoon luxury, however, you’ll want to book the Song Saa Private Island Resort, located on Cambodia’s pristine Koh Rong Archipelago, a deserted oasis of virgin rainforests, tropical reefs and glistening white beaches 35 minutes by boat from the port of Sihanoukville. Enjoy the ultimate intimacy and luxury as you savor the view from the edge of your private infinity pool. Snorkel or kayak in the pristine waters surrounding Song Saa or take a personalized yoga lesson on the immaculate private beach.

1. CAMBODIA

2. SRI LANKA

Another off the grid babymoon destination with some seriously beautiful coastline and no Zika, is Sri Lanka. Head to Trincomalee, which once served as the dividing line between the north and the south during 30 years of civil strife, but now peace and tranquility rule over its expansive, pristine beaches and snorkeling opportunities. Relatively undeveloped compared to other coastal locales, this is the place to savor Sri Lanka’s marine beauty in welcome seclusion on a babymoon.

3. MYANMAR

Still far removed from the average tourist’s radar, Myanmar is home to the stunning Mergui Archipelago, which features white sand beaches, colorful coral reefs and abundant marine life that are dreamy on a babymoon. Perhaps the best way to experience the wild beauty of the Mergui islands by sailing between them aboard a luxurious private boat. Exotic, seldom-visited by tourists and perfect for snorkeling, this exquisite marine destination is reminiscent of Thailand 40 years ago.
