MYANMAR IS A YEAR-ROUND DESTINATION.
Fall and winter are considered the classic seasons to visit. However, don’t rule out the ‘Green Season’ which brings welcome surprises including lots of activity in the countryside and rural villages.
Northeast Monsoon
Late October - Mid February
Gradually less rainfall and slightly cooler temperatures as fall progresses into winter. Rice paddies, forests, and jungles provide an emerald green backdrop.
Intermonsoonal period
Mid February - Mid May
Little precipitation and warm temperatures, ranging from 72 F to 100 F. Considered the classic time of year to visit; A great time of year for Myanmar’s emerging beach and island destinations. Little to no rainfall and the coolest temperatures of the year make it a can’t miss.
Southwest Monsoon
Mid May - late October
Gradually higher amounts of rainfall as the summer progresses bringing about cooler temperatures and fresh air albeit with higher humidity in lower elevations. Landscapes are lush and verdant, while rivers and lakes are at their maximum splendor. The most remote areas of the country may be challenging to reach and explore due to difficult road conditions.
